2018 Family Day

Mando Brose held 2018 Family Day at Seonhak Field HockeyStadiumon October 20 with nearly 260 employees and their family members attending the event.<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> Before the event began representatives of employees took the oath and Mr. Sang-Yeol Lee, CEO, delivered an opening address. A variety of games and attractions were available for both employees and their family to enjoy and it was a great opportunity to harmonize and communicate with each other. <o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> In Mr. Sang-Yeol Lee’s closing speech, he said, “It was such a great day to have an outdoor event. I hope it was a day for everybody to share, sympathize and harmonize together.” He also added, “I want you to work while you work and play while you play. And always live with your dreams and hopes.”<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> The event was ended very successful with all of the employees including officers actively participating. After the event, employees commented, “It was a great event to bring everyone into harmony and encourage loyalty to the company.” <o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> One of the employees commented, “It is a meaningful event where employees and their family can enjoy the day together in the open air.” The event certainly provided an opportunity to bring everyone into harmony and made them to pledge to come together for the success of the company.<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> Representative of Management Support Team also commented, “We hope today’s event gave an opportunity to get recharged and to encourage each other outside of busy workplace. We plan to implement various programs to harmonize employees and to boost employee morale.”<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p>

Parliamentary State Secretary of BMWi Visits MBCo

Mando Brose welcomed Mr. Chistian Hirte, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and 6 guests including Mr. Weert Börner, the Deputy Head of Mission of GermanEmbassySeoul for their visit to MBCo Songdo plant on August 7.<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> The meeting started by introducing Mando Brose, Halla Group, Mando and Brose and followed by sharing the vision and prospects as a joint venture company between Korea and Germany. After the presentation, a short plant tour of the proto & testing shop and production line was followed and the guests had a chance to establish a better understanding of MBCo’s products.<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> In the wrap-up meeting, Mr. Sang-Yeol Lee said, “based on the dynamic nature of Korea and the craftsmanship of Germany, we will do our best to lead the successful joint venture company and contribute to the economic development of both Korea and Germany.”<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> Mr. Hirte replied, “It was a great opportunity to understand how the Korean-German joint venture company operates. I am delighted to see that the two sides are working in good coordination and wish Mando Brose goes from strength to strength in the wider market place.”<o:p></o:p>

2018 Supplier's Day

On February 27, Mando Brose invited suppliers to its annual Supplier's Day event to strengthen partnership through improving understanding and encouraging mutual growth. <o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> With executives of Mando Brose and 50 guests from 31 suppliers attending the event, Mando Brose shared its current management status, business plan and China localization status and held Q&A session to communicate with suppliers. The event was followed by awarding the Supplier of the Year and Top Quality Supplier of 2017 to thank them for their hard work. <o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> During the event, Mr. Sang-Yeol Lee, CEO of Mando Brose, said, “It is not easy to survive in a period of intense competition in which we must seek opportunities in an unpredictable crisis. In order to seek those opportunities, we must ask whether we are sharing and implementing clear goals, using resources properly, and always keeping global competitiveness in mind. Above all, only the companies that constantly innovate through the fundamentals can survive and gain the trust of customers."<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> After the event, the participants commented, “It was a great opportunity to enhance mutual understanding and trust with each other. The event provided us to recall our partnership with Mando Brose and to check mutual growth and sustainability.”<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> Like the saying, “Setting clear goals is a shortcut to success”, Mando Brose will set the clear goals and pursue them by strengthening continuous cooperation and communication with suppliers in order to achieve future vision together.<o:p></o:p>

2018 New Year Hiking

MBCo held an annual hiking event on January 6 at Cheongryang Mountain in Incheon and about 120 employees attended the event to kickofftheNew Year.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>Before the hiking began, Mr. Sang-Yeol Lee said, “Your indomitablewill, passion, and challenging spirit are what drew the footsteps of MBCo’s journey. 2018 already is projected to be a difficult year ahead. Nevertheless, if we work together as one, we can overcome any adversity lies ahead.”<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>The hiking began shortly after Mr. Lee’s greeting and warm-up exercise. Along the way, everybody chatted with each other and enjoyed the time together. Once everybody arrived at the top, MBCo’s 2018 slogan “Challenge & Success” was shouted out loud and everyone encouraged each other to wish a good year.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>2017 was by no means an easy year for us, but new sun has risen for us to start fresh again. We hope that this year will be a year in which MBCo can once again prove itself to the world, to show that we can stand firm and united, with the common goal of achieving success.<o:p></o:p>

2018 New Year’s Kick-off Ceremony

The 2017 New Year Kick-Off Ceremony was held at MBCo Education Hall on January 3. <o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>The ceremony began with New Year’s address by Mr. Sang-Yeol Lee which he began by thanking the employees for all their efforts and hard work in the past year.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>In Mr. Lee’s Address, he mentioned that 2017 was not an easy year for MBCo, but it was a meaningful year in which we reconfirmed our qualities: indomitablewill, passion, and challenge spirit.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>Most particularly, it is important for us to look back our ‘basis’ and ‘roots’ which may have become blurry over the years. Also, your original intention will be the basis to make us confident and strong when undergoing various hardships. I urge you to never forget the original intention you had in your mind when you joined MBCo, he said.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>Lastly, he announced the 2018 management policy, “Strengthening of Management Fundamentals” and suggested several tasks that will help MBCo to achieve the management goals in 2018 which are [Basic Compliance], [Sustainable Growth], [Open Management].<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>At the end of his Address he said, “2018 is projected to be a difficult year ahead. However, we will continue to move forward even in the toughest moments. Your indomitablewill, passion, and challenging spirit that you have been showing since the establishment of this company will carry us forward.” <o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>MBCo employees’ doggedness and a sense of urgency to turn challenge into success are what drew the footsteps of MBCo’s journey. In 2018, we hope that we once again prove ourselves to the world, to show that we can stand firm and united, with the common goal of achieving success.<o:p></o:p>

MBCo Delivers Donation to Community Chest of Korea

MBCo participated in the 「3000 Homes with Love」 project organized by Incheon city and delivered donations through Community Chest of Korea on December 12.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>「3000 Homes with Love」is a project in which supporters of local residents, businesses, and religious groups establish a sisterhood relationship with low-income families to provide 30,000 Won worth of cash or goods on a monthly basis for a year. <o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>About 10 people attended the donation deliver ceremony including Sang-Yeol Lee (MBCo CEO), Sung Soo Jun (Vice Mayor of Administrative AffairsIncheon Metropolitan City), and Myunghwan Chung (Chairman of Community Chest of Incheon). <o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>MBCo employees volunteered to participate in Woosuri Payroll Donation Campaign and total of 5 million won were collected for a year which the donation will be used to support 14 families in Incheon area.<o:p></o:p> During the ceremony Mr. Lee said “We are delighted to be part of the project to make Incheon a happier place. We will continue to seek other opportunities to participate to make Incheon a happier place.” <o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>The Vice Mayor, Mr. Jun said, “Thank you for participating the project. I hope that this project will continue to expand to individuals, businesses, and organizations so that all citizens of Incheon will participate together to make better Incheon.”<o:p></o:p>

2017 Family Day

To unite everyone to overcome obstacles and achieve goals with one spirit, mind and passion, Mando Brose held 2017 Family Day at the Songdo LNG station soccer field on October 14.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>Before the event began, Mr. Sang-Yeol Lee (CEO) said, “I hope that this event paves the way for us to have one mind for Mando Brose’s success and brings everyone together to encourage each other for their hard work. But more importantly, I hope today’s event gives an opportunity to recharge and have a great time.”<o:p></o:p>There were nearly 230 employees and their family members who attended the event, employees and their family enthusiastically participated the event which was followed by various activities such as relay race, tug-of-war, and penalty shoot-out. One of the employees commented, “It is a meaningful event where employees and their family can enjoy the day together in the open air.” The event certainly provided an opportunity to bring everyone into harmony and made them to pledge to come together for the success of the company.<o:p></o:p>

Mando Brose signs an Investor Agreement with ZETDZ

On June 15, Mando Brose entered into an investment agreement with China's Zhangjiagang Economic and Technological Development Zone (ZETDZ) and made its first step toward entering the Chinese market.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>Sang Yeol Lee, Markus Schultz, Xavier Marce, Jong Woon Mo from Mando Brose and Dongping Lu and the staff from ZETDZ attended the signing ceremony.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>At the ceremony, Mr. Dongping Lu, the Deputy Secretary said, “We would like to welcome Mando Brose to Zhangjiagang city and we will give unstinting support for Mando Brose’s success in China.”<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>Mr. Sang Yeol Lee, CEO of Mando Brose said, “We would like to express our gratitude for ZETDZ’s continued cooperation and support. We will do our best to contribute to economic growth of Korea and China through successful business.”<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>Mando Brose China Ltd. will be established in July 2017 and plans to begin mass production of EPS motor.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>We hope that Mando Brose's entry into China will be an opportunity of new development to take another step towards prosperity.<o:p></o:p>

2017 Mando Brose Supplier’s Day

Mando Brose Supplier's Day was held at MBCo Education Hall on February 28, 2017. Around 60 people attended the event, including executives of Mando Brose and 29 suppliers.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>Mr. Sang-Yeol Lee began the event by presenting the analysis of automotive industry and current management status and also MBCo’s current development status and purchasing/quality status were shared for mutual growth.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>The event was followed by awarding the Supplier of the Year and Top Quality Supplier of 2016 and thanked them for their hard work. Mr. Lee also encouraged the suppliers by giving them the motivation to maintain a growing cooperative relationship for the future.<o:p></o:p>  <o:p></o:p>In Lee’s Message, he said, “With your support, Mando Brose was able to grow. We will fulfill our role as a valuable companion to building a culture of coexistence". And he emphasized “To achieve this, we must realize securing the top quality and cost competitiveness”.<o:p></o:p>  <o:p></o:p>Supplier's Day was established to encourage best suppliers who have contributed to quality improvement and cost reduction during the past year. Mando Brose has developed the event based on the "One Body" philosophy of Halla Group and it is the third year holding the event since 2014.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>Mando Brose will continue to hold various programs for suppliers to support their growth.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>

General Director of BMWi Visits MBCo

MBCo welcomed Eckhard Franz, General Director of German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and guests from German Embassy, and KGCCI (Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry ) for their visit to MBCo on January 11. <o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>The purpose of their visit was to understand and discuss economic cooperation between Germany and Korea. The meeting was held in Grand Conference Room and began with CEO’s greeting and introduction of MBCo. After the presentation, a short tour was followed to look around proto & testing shop and production line. <o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>In the wrap-up meeting, Mr. Franz said, “Thank you very much for your hospitality. This visit was a great opportunity to understand the current status and characteristics of the Korean industrial market and to gauge its marketability.” and also, “We hope that Mando Brose continues to grow and promote international exchanges.<o:p></o:p>

2017 Kick-off the New Year with Hiking

70 of MBCo employees gathered on January 7 at Cheongryang Mountain in Incheon to get the New Year off to a good start.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>Before the hiking began, Mr. Sang-Yeol Lee said, “Climbing may be hard, but it’s worth the effort once you reach the top” and I hope that the new year will be a meaningful year in which all employees of Mando Brose will make a leap forward with a big ambition."<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>It was sunny and clear day for hiking and had warmer temperatures than in the average year. Warm weather made everybody start to sweat but it didn’t stop them to arrive at the top of the climb. Once everybody arrived, MBCo’s new slogan “Challenge & Success” was shouted out loud and everyone encouraged each other to wish a good year.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>As we began the New Year with hiking, we hope that the New Year will be a bright and promising year by receiving the vital energy of fire rooster which informs the early dawn of the morning with a cheerful and energetic voice.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>

2017 New Year Kick-Off Ceremony was held in the Education Hall at Mando Brose on January 3. During the New Year Kick-Off Meeting, Mr. Sang-Yeol Lee, CEO of Mando Brose delivered New Year’s Address and thanked employees for all their hard work.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>In Mr. Lee’s Address, he announced the 2017’s slogan, “Challenge & Success” and management policy, “Profitable Growth & Sustainability” and also suggested several tasks that will help MBCo to achieve the management goals in 2017 which are [Profitability Management], [Future Management], [Confidence Management].<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>Mr. Lee mentioned that2017 will not be an easy year for MBCO. Difficult factors such as variables caused by the recent election in the US, difficulties in Korean politics, the economy, and interest rates await us but we can recognize this harsh situation as an opportunity and can overcome with our unique strength.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>He also said that in the current situation where quality problems are rampant internally and externally, we must be armed with a strong spirit to make Mando Brose stand well above the crowd so that our value can be recognized by any customer and our customers can be confident when it comes to quality.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>At the end of his Address he said, “The words 'Challenge' and 'Success' are not strange to us. We have already experienced both, and we are experiencing them again at this very moment. I would like to remind ourselves of our unique strengths with the new slogan“Challenge & Success”.<o:p></o:p>The New Year Kick-off Ceremony was ended with shouting the new slogan “Challenge & Success” in unison.<o:p></o:p>

MBCo Delivers Donation to Community chest of Korea

Mando Brose delivered a donation to Community Chest of Korea Incheon branch on December 13.<o:p></o:p>MBCo employees volunteered to participate in Woosuri Payroll Donation Campaign and total of 3 million won were collected from Sep. 2015 to Nov. 2016 which the donation will be used to support low income families in Incheon area.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>During the donation delivery ceremony Mr. Won-Hyeok Cho said “Sharing can be addictive. Although it is a very small amount but we hope that it will go towards to neighbors in need and wish they can spend warmer winter.” The president of Community Chest of Korea Incheon branch, Mr. Geon-Ho Cho thanked MBCo for the donation and said that it was a good opportunity to feel geniality for local community.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>MBCo will continue collecting Woosuri Payroll Donation and will search for other social contribution programs to participate.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>

2016 Family Day Event

MBCo organized thefirst ‘Employee Family DayEvent’ on October 15 at Incheon National University Football Field. It is the first time to hold MBCo’s own family event and MBCo employees and their family members were joined to share the fun.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>Before the event began, a slogan for the event “MBCo’s Future! We all are the stars!” was announced. Mr. Sang-Yeol Lee remarked that we should not settle for achieving a surplus, and keep continue to devote ourselves to make Mando Brose where our children want to work and he also thanked the family for being with MBCo the whole time.<o:p></o:p>The event included various activities for everybody to participate and winning teams and individuals were awarded at the end of the event. Before closing the event, raffle drawing took place and Mando Footloose e-bike, LG UHD TV, Samsung Galaxy Tap, and Golf bag were awarded to 1stto 4thwinners.<o:p></o:p>

The 2016 New Year Kick-Off Meeting was held in the Education Hall at Mando Brose on January 6 with Mr. Stefan Halusa, President of Brose Korea and Mr. Xavier Marcé, a successor of MBCo CFO attending. During the New Year Kick-Off Meeting, Mr. Sang-Yeol Lee, CEO of Mando Brose delivered New Year’s Address and thanked employees for all their hard work.<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> In Mr. Lee’s Address, he announced the 2016’s slogan,“Work together to the future”and management policy,“Build up Sustainable Growth”and also suggested several tasks that will help MBCo to achieve the management goals in 2016 which are[Absolutely achieving surplus], [Securing a competitive edge], [Settling MBCo’s own corporate culture].<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> Mr. Lee mentioned that we are facing a US rise in interest rates, China’s economic slowdown, a slide in oil prices and other global economic variables in 2016, but we can overcome these obstacles with reserved strength that we have cumulated from the past. He also requested that we must not forget our original intention and be firm in our commitment to achieve a surplus in 2016.<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> At the end of his Address he said, “We are not in this alone, but we are together. And let’s make the company where our children will want to work and a company of which our family is proud”. The New Year Kick-off Meeting was ended with shouting the new management policy“Work together to the future”in unison.<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> 2016 is the year of the Red Fire Monkey which comes around once every 60 years. Monkeys are clever, preferring to be in front rather than sitting at the back of the room, never hesitating to take the lead, enthusiastic to accomplish anything, very wise and carry an enterprising spirit. These strengths are desperately needed for MBCo, as we welcome 2016 and we hope to receive the energy of Red Fire Monkey all year long.<o:p></o:p>

Mando Brose kick off the New Year with a hike

At the top of mountain, MBco’s new slogan “Work toghether to the future” was shouted out loud and everyone encouraged each other to wish a good year. 2016 is expected to be a difficult year again, but MBCo employees are confident to achieve the goal with spirits of Red Fire Monkeys.
